Description
We dedicate this show to Kramer Williamson, sprint car driver who lost his life last week at Lincoln Speedway. Johnny Rocca reviews the Old Dominion Speedway 60 Years of Cars and Stars event held last Sunday at Colonial Beach Dragway. Over 400 cars showed up and they raced into late Sunday night. Next year the event moves to the New Dominion Raceway. Hollywood producer Robin Broidy joins us from Reno, NV Hot August Nights car show. She is the driving force behind the new Snake and the Mongoose movie to be released in September. Tim Duerr is the Motorsports Marketing Manager for the Ford Motor Company. He gives us the low down on why Ford is leaving NHRA Top Fuel Funny car. They are going for more grass roots drag racing as well as sticking with their NASCAR Programs. Jordan Taylor went out on a limb in his comparison of LMP vs. DP cars. We let him clear the air about what he really meant about the competition in the Rolex Series versus the ALMS. We quiz him about his 2014 plans. We dissect NASCAR’s season so far with NASCAR.com’s Holly Cain. She has over 20 years’ experience as a race reporter and gives us great insight as to who is hot and who is not! Judd Sheppard is an old friend of the show, more importantly; this week he explains what drives dirt sprint car drivers to keep going at it week after week. This is in spite of the dangers, deaths and disabilities they face every inch of every lap- this is a great interview- don’t miss it. Keep the green flag flying!
