Eric Jones

Co-Host and NASCAR Correspondent

Eric Jones is a native of Lakeland, Florida, and joined In The Pits Media in 2012 full-time as a Motorsports Correspondent focusing on NASCAR and other national touring series.  Prior to joining In The Pits Media, Mr. Jones had previously been a guest on the show providing driver perspectives and interviews related to his own personal motorsports endeavors.  He has interviewed drivers from all major touring series to include one-on-one interviews with NASCAR stars Mark Martin, AJ Allmendinger, and Darrell Wallace Jr.

Eric grew up in central Florida, a hot-bed for motorsports, and was inspired to pursue motorsports by his grandfather.  In 2001, he joined the United States Navy, and deployed multiple occasions in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and other global contingency operations.  His commitment to the nation precluded his ability to participate in motorsports.  In 2010, Eric was honorably discharged from the Navy to pursue a career in the defense industry where he continues to deploy in support of combat operations.

In 2011, he formed Eric Jones Racing with his fellow veteran and friend, Greg Harnish.  Eric Jones Racing competes nationally in the US Legend Cars Semi-Pro division, and finished 3rd in the Virginia Legend Semi-Pro Division points championship, and top ten in points at his home track, Old Dominion Speedway in 2012.  Eric Jones Racing partnered with a non-profit, Freedom Behind the Wheel, a group which is committed to serving our nation’s wounded warriors by increasing awareness to associated causes, and involving veterans in all forms of motorsports.

Mr. Jones resides in Arlington, Virginia with his wife Christine Bowman, a native of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
